Good Girl Gone Bad… Take Three?

After a string of successes with her breakthrough album, Good Girl Gone Bad, and two editions of the album, Rihanna has decided to re-release the album for a third time. Yes, a third time. The album will be called Good Girl Gone Bad: The Remixes and is due January 27th. It  features remixed versions of 12 tracks from the album’s first and second releases including ‘Disturbia’, ‘Take A Bow’ and ‘Umbrella’.

With a 2009 release of another album, that will make it every year since she has been out that she has dropped an album. I guess she’s set on setting her own records. I wonder if they’ll do a Good Girl Gone Bad album in another language?? Maybe Spanish??

Beyonce “Diva” Video [OFFICIAL]

Beyonce‘s long awaited video for follow up single to “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”, “Diva”, is finally here!

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! With an accompanying video to follow such a strong record, this is sure to fly to the top of the charts. The question is, how soon? The song in itself strays from what were used to seeing and hearing from the Queen Bey as it brags and boasts and just throws it in your face. It has a fierce delivery and strong attitude. The song, when it first hit the ‘net, shocked a lot of people– as we couldn’t have seen this coming from 2 blocks away. But I love it! I’m sure this vid will catapult it to the position it deserves– #1! Melina did an amazing job with this one. And Bangladesh & Sean Garrett killed the production and writing of the song!

Sidenote: Does this mean “Video Phone” is the next record?? I will die! I play that song all day, every day, and I wake up to it. Literally– it’s my alarm ringer

Beyonce “Halo” Video [OFFICIAL]

Beyonce has released the video for ”Halo”, which is the follow up single to the chart topping “If I Were A Boy”, in which she his Michael Early (of Barber Shop fame) as the lead man. Check it out:

I love the simplicity of it. Very good video, for an even better song. Not to mention “Halo” is one of my fave tracks off of the Beyonce side. No matter how good the song may be though, “If I Were A Boy” will be hard  to follow. Both songs are amazing, and if the retirement after this album is true, I will be saddened.

Tami Chynn Ft. Akon “Frozen”

Tami Chynn has a new video with Akon called “Frozen”, check it out:

Not a big fan of the song, and I can’t say the video is doing anything for me either. I can say I do like how she is experimenting with different looks in each scene. It’s almost like a different person in each shot. Nice.

If any of you are unfamiliar with Tami Chynn, she is a singer, songwriter and dancer from Kingston, JA and is signed to Universal & Akon’s label Konvict Muzik. Before beginning her music career, she toured with Shaggy as a backup dancer on his Caught Red Handed Tour. Her second studio album Prima Donna will be out early 2009.

I Am… Sasha Fierce Certified PLATINUM After 3 Weeks!

After only 3 weeks after it’s release, Beyonce‘s 3rd solo project I Am… Sasha Fiercehas been certified platinum by the RIAA. Congrat’s to Bey on that! But were you expecting any different?

It leaves me to ask the question… Is the music industry suffering because no one buys records any more, or is it just that no one is putting out good music anymore? Obviously people still buy records, so I go with the latter….

Beyonce & Alexandra Burke @ X-Factor Finale

Although X-Factor (the UK version of American Idol) is overseas, this season had America buzzing like no other. Part of that reason being the super-duper, amazingly talented 20 year old, Alexandra Burke. At the finale show last night, Alexandra hit the stage with one of her idols (and my boo) Beyonce… and Oh Baby! I haven’t seen that much talent on one stage at the same time since Dreamgirls:

BET’s The Black Carpet Cancelled

BET’s answer to E! News, The Black Carpet, has been cancelled according to one of the shows host, Toure. It was announced several weeks ago that Viacom (the company that owns BET, MTV, Vh1 and many more), would be making cuts in these companies, which would result in hosts being let go and shows being cancelled…. even whole departments being shut down.

Not a surprise that The Black Carpet was one of the first to go, being that the ratings weren’t that well and not many people watched it to begin with. This recession is no joke.

Cassie “Leave A Message”

Looks like Cassie,Diddy, and the whole team over at Bad Boy is adamant about making Cassie a force to be reckoned with in this business:

A new song of hers was recently leaked to the web called “Leave You A Message”, and although I am not a big Cassie fan (nor do I know one), this song is a great slow jam. Vocally, I’m impressed. I didn’t think Cassie had it in her. There was this one time I was surfing YouTube looking for evidence that she was in fact, vocally talented, when I stumbled upon this video of her singing “Me & U” acapella. She didn’t sound half bad, in fact she sounded pretty good, but the clip proved that Cassie could only showcase herself vocally if she sang at a  really (reeaaalllyy) low volume– as she is doing on this record. Overall, the song is very sexy and sultry, and vocally she doesn’t sound bad.

Usher & Tameka Has A Boy!

 

Usher & Tameka Raymond welcomed their second baby boy (and her fifth) this Wednesday at 2:33 AM. The boy, which they named Naviyd Ely Raymond (not sure how you pronounce the first name, but Ely is cute), weighed in at 5 lbs and 13 ounces. Congrats to the couple!

Their first child together, Usher Raymond V, turned 1 on Nov. 26.
